Hàng công yếu kém của Pelicans chứng tỏ họ vẫn chỉ là một bộ sưu tập những pha highlight

No, Seriously, Did You See Zion Tonight?

You know me, I live for the highlights. The rim-rocking dunks, the ankle-breaking crossovers, the insane blocks – that's my bread and butter. And when the New York Knicks squared off against the New Orleans Pelicans at Madison Square Garden, there were moments, man. Real flashes of brilliance, mostly from Zion Williamson. The dude had 26 points on 10-of-17 shooting, including a few monstrous finishes that had the Garden buzzing, even if they were rooting against him.

But here's the thing: those individual moments? They just don't add up for the Pelicans. Not when they're getting smacked around like they did tonight, losing 116-106. Jalen Brunson, meanwhile, was just cooking, dropping 34 points and showing why he's become the engine for the Knicks. He didn't need to put anyone on a poster to dominate; he just kept getting buckets.

Missing Pieces and Disappearing Acts

Real talk, where was CJ McCollum? He finished with 19 points, but it felt like he was invisible for stretches. And Brandon Ingram? Seven points on 3-of-12 shooting. That's not just bad, that's highlight-reel-killer bad. You can't be a team that relies solely on Zion's incredible dunks and then have your other stars disappear when the lights are brightest.

The Knicks, on the other hand, just kept coming. Donte DiVincenzo hit six threes, ending with 21 points. Isaiah Hartenstein grabbed 12 rebounds. They play a cohesive brand of basketball, even when their top-tier athleticism isn't quite as explosive as a guy like Williamson. And that’s the difference. You can compile all the highlight reels you want of Zion soaring, but if the team around him isn't delivering, it's just window dressing on a losing effort.

My hot take? The Pelicans will never be true contenders as long as their entire identity revolves around waiting for Zion to do something superhuman. They need more consistent, all-around production. This isn't a highlight package; it's an NBA game.

Look, the Pelicans are fun to watch for the occasional viral clip, but the Knicks are building something. They're gritty, they're tough, and they actually play defense. The final score often tells a bigger story than the sickest dunk.

I'm calling it: Unless the Pelicans figure out how to make their highlights translate into wins, they're going to keep being a first-round exit, or worse, miss the playoffs entirely.
