NBA All-Star Game 2026 Highlights: Best Plays and Moments
The 2026 NBA All-Star Weekend in San Francisco delivered. From the Slam Dunk Contest to the main event, here are the best moments and highlights from the weekend.
The All-Star Game
The new format — a mini-tournament with four teams captained by All-Stars — produced the most competitive All-Star Game in years. The final between Team SGA and Team Tatum went down to the wire, with SGA hitting a step-back three with 8 seconds left to win it 45-42. SGA was named All-Star MVP with 18 points in the final.
The highlight of the game was a Wembanyama alley-oop from Jokic. The two big men connected on a fast break, with Jokic throwing a no-look lob that Wemby caught and threw down with authority. The crowd at Chase Center went crazy — it was the kind of play you only see when the best players in the world are on the same team.
Slam Dunk Contest
Anthony Edwards finally entered the Dunk Contest, and he didn't disappoint. His first dunk — a between-the-legs from just inside the free-throw line — scored a perfect 50. His second dunk — a 360 windmill — also scored 50. He won the contest easily, and fans are already calling it the best Dunk Contest performance since Vince Carter in 2000.
Three-Point Contest
Stephen Curry won his third Three-Point Contest at age 38, in his home arena. He scored 28 in the final round, hitting 6 consecutive money balls to close it out. The Chase Center crowd gave him a standing ovation. It was a fitting moment for the greatest shooter in basketball history, playing in what might be his last All-Star Weekend.
Skills Challenge
The Skills Challenge featured a team format with three-player squads. Team Cavaliers (Mitchell, Mobley, Allen) won the event, showcasing their chemistry and versatility. The highlight was Evan Mobley hitting a half-court shot to win the final round.
LeBron's farewell
The most emotional moment of the weekend was LeBron James's farewell. In his final All-Star appearance, LeBron received a 3-minute standing ovation from the crowd. Every player on both teams stood and applauded. LeBron wiped tears from his eyes. It was a fitting tribute to the greatest career in basketball history.
